We are a Canadian couple that loves to engage people in conversations about their life stories and offer encouragement through supportive listening. We have been doing this for over 37 years, in Canada and Europe.
In our work, we have supported grieving families who lost loved ones through infant deaths, suicide and other tragic ways. We have come alongside people struggling to make sense of their painful past, who are living within the big questions of life, where God seems absent and silent.
We are children of God - our ultimate Guide - and learners in the journey of life.
Elvin enjoys hiking, especially in the Rockies, exploring new territories above the tree line in the awesome wonder of nature. He values opportunities to speak and facilitate discussions on matters of life, faith and personal development. He recently completed a Doctor of Ministry program at Carey Theological College, Vancouver B.C.
"Elvin and Cindy have a unique ability to come alongside people and to create a safe and genuinely authentic atmosphere with others. I have seen and experienced the interest and love for people in them and how they are willing to learn about people's stories. As they listen to others without offering ready and worn out answers, it musters up trust and willingness to share about struggles and real issues in life. This brings about hope for the future, life and comfort; knowing that you are not alone.

We live in the small community of Crawford Bay, BC (Canada) on the east shore of Kootenay Lake. This area is bordered by two mountain ranges -Selkirk and Purcell, with the lake in between. Firs and cedars dominate the forests and deer and elk graze on the golf course nearby. Here you will enjoy solitude within beauty and stillness.
Cindy is a writer, designer, artist and lover of beauty in all its aspects. She is gifted in listening and helping people to voice what is deepest in their souls. She is committed to authenticity and loves to engage in honest conversations. Cindy's own healing journey through personal pain is an inspiration to many.
We have been married for 37 years. We have three sons (plus one who died as a child), two daughter-in-laws and three grandsons. Our oldest son is married to a Latvian lady, our youngest son to a Lithuanian lady. Our home is enriched because of the different cultures represented.
Some things in life cannot be fixed; they can only be carried.
Sometimes it takes darkness and the sweet confinement of your aloneness
to learn anything or anyone
that does not bring you alive
is too small for you. - David Whyte
